Yesterday for Veterans Day, the kids and I took a 2-hour drive to Tehachapi to visit one of my dearest friends Liv and her beautiful family, including the dog, the cat and the two guinea pigs. Auspiciously, Liv and I had had our sons and daughters around the same time so Son (my eldest) and Daughter (my middle child) have the perfect playmates in her kids.
